Writers Block

Writers block..... I have it! Bad! I used to have so many ideas of what I would want to write about here on this wonderful blog but now I am stumped! I have at least five different drafts saved on here, yet to be finished, and maybe never published. Some of them need a video or a picture, some need words, some just don't even make sense! Have you ever had something happen to you that just took up all your time and brain power from then on out? Well that is kind of exactly what happened to me. I'll tell you the story now, just in case you're curious.
So once upon a time there was a girl named Araleigh and she just kind of lived life. She just had a normal life that rarely changed. Get up, get ready, go to classes, get home, do homework, eat, watch TV, go to bed. Repeat, repeat, repeat. The only exciting part of any of her days was when she heard from her missionary. She counted down days, even hours, until she would hear from him sometimes. Then something amazing happened. She got a message from said missionary saying that our mutual friend Dakota would be bringing something to me, sent from the missionary himself. Needless to say, she was kinda excited. So she waited all day to get this surprise.. not really paying attention in classes or when she tried to do homework. Finally the time came when good ol' Dakota was standing outside my door. He handed her a little red bag that she quickly ripped the stuffing out of only to find a camera. She was a little confused at this point, she already had a camera. All of a sudden, Dakota grabs the camera out of her hands, turns it on and points it at her saying only "OK go." She stood there not knowing what to do until from around the corner...... walks her missionary in the flesh!!! Her eyes opened wide and she looked at her roommate behind her as if to say "Is this really happening?! Please tell me this is really happening!?!" Then she ran and hugged him as tight as she could while he kind of laughed and she almost cried. It was definitely a tender moment, and it was all caught on video! After that, the rest is sort of history! They lived happily ever after and all that kind of stuff. :)
In case you didn't guess, the girl in the story was me... ;) and the missionary was Nate. It's been a week since he's been home and we spend every second of extra time we have with each other. Which might explain some of my writers block seeing as all I really think about is him too. And once I can get the video to upload to my computer, I will put up my post about surprises for you guys to see! I hope you liked my story because it was based off a true story! I'll keep you updated on how the story really does unfold! Until next time.. <3

Fantasy Wedding

For all you girls out there, have you ever dreamed about your perfect wedding? I know I have! I may only be 18 right now but I can pretend can't I? And since my mind has been spinning with wedding thoughts lately I figured a good out for me would be to put them all up somewhere and I chose this blog. Ready for this guys?! Araleigh's Fantasy Wedding only here on Life of a Teenage Nobody.
First off on many girl's wedding checklists are the colors of the wedding. I would like mine to be purple and gold. Somewhere around these colors:

Or maybe Purple and Silver! Oh boy now I'm conflicted! I had chosen purple and gold awhile ago but I really do love silver more than gold so maybe like this:

The last two colors of the first picture would be more base colors where the first two are the main ones. And if I chose to do the purple and silver, I would probably have a dark, deep purple, and a lighter lavender purple with the silver accent color. If I was super fancy and super rich I would put together a reception area similar to this. The purple and gold is the first one and the purple and silver is the second:

But since I'm neither of those, my reception room will be a little less fancy. Which is still very okay with me! The next thing I think of is Bride's Maids and a Maid of Honor. The thing with me is I have two very best friends and a bunch of other really good friends and then my sisters. Hmmm how would I set that all up? I'm still a little murky with this one but I think I'll just have two Maids of Honor and a few choice bride's maids consisting of friends and maybe my two closest sisters. Whoever you are, you're going to be part of a lucky few. ;) Outfits and coordinating will have to be planned later because I am not the fashion guru of the family.
Next is the dress for me! Thankfully my family was just recently given a BEAUTIFUL dress that my mom says I can use for my own wedding! That cuts cost down a lot, hallelujah!
It's a mix between these two dresses I think. I actually haven't even tried it on so I'm not positive on what it looks like with someone inside it but I do know it is absolutely gorgeous!

Lets see, next on my list is location. Being LDS I plan on being married in an LDS temple. There are SO many to choose from so I think I will show you my top three! First is the Laie, Hawaii Temple. Oh is so so pretty! It's not very realistic though but I still thought I would show you. Then is the San Diego Temple in California. It looks like a castle! And while it is a little more realistic, that still probably won't happen. Finally is the Brigham City, Utah Temple. It's in between my two homes, Logan and Kaysville so I think it will be perfect! This one actually is realistic so for now that is my plan. It's very very beautiful isn't it?

Then we have things like guests and invitations and decorations and photographers and a cake and food! Oh boy so many little details! All I know is I want many family members and friends there from both sides of my large family as well as his family. Invitations will most likely follow the purple and gold pattern and my one of my wonderful aunts is an amazing photographer! She did my senior pictures so I would love for her to do my engagement and wedding pictures as well. My grandma also makes wedding cakes so I would ask her to make one for me too! Thankfully they're all family so maybe they'll cut me a deal, eh? ;) As for decorations and food, I'm not that picky. My husband can choose the food because I'm sure that will interest him the most and my very artistic sister and fabulous mother have already offered to help with the rest!
It is a little weird to think about a wedding at my age. I'm only in my second semester of college and barely 18 years old. But it excites me sooooo much! I probably won't be married for AT LEAST another year so I have time to figure out all the tiny baby details and find the man for me. (I kinda need him for the whole wedding thing to happen anyways haha) Either way, I'm stoked for the future! Hooray for weddings!!! <3

Wasting Time

So... I heard this quote once that went something like this: "Wasted time enjoyed is not time wasted". Or something along those lines. Meaning, if you enjoy what you are doing when you are doing nothing at all, then you aren't really wasting it, right? Personally, when I am watching some of my favorite TV shows or reading a good book I don't feel like I'm wasting my time at all. Then there comes a thing called iwastesomuchtime.com... It is a wondrous website of magical fun-ness and if you have nothing to do for the next, oh, five or six hours then you should check it out! BUT, if you are easily distracted.... DON'T DO IT! Go work out or watch a movie or hang out with friends or read my blog more (hehe) or something but don't get sucked in (like I have) to the time waster of all time wasters! Many of you may have already succumbed to the site so you know exactly what I mean but if you haven't and I have not poked and prodded at your curiosity enough, here are some of the things you will find on that website:

Oh, cough cough, I hope I haven't made you want to spend hours looking at hilarious photos and videos on that site... that would just be awkward... Welp, until next time folks! <3

Family, Friends, and Roommates

So I saw something kind of cool today on a girls binder that was sitting next to me... It was a set of pictures that looked like this:
I thought it was very cute and clever so I made one of my own! Awe cute friends and family. :) Then I thought about it for a second and came up with this:

I do actually quite like my roommates (contrary to what my venting post might have shown) and we get along a majority of the time. I'm very glad I got to room with them this year! Love you guys <3

Men and Women

There are many obvious differences between men and women but one main difference that I have been thinking about is how we each deal with problems in our lives. This is what I've come up with: (with input from friends and my great mom)

Women: Girls tend to have a LOT of "problems" all the time. Many are very insignificant. Yet, it doesn't matter what the so called problem is, there is one thing almost all of us do. We talk about it. We talk and talk and talk and talk until we can't talk no more! And then everything is fine. As soon as we just let it all out, it's almost as if the problem is solved. We don't necessarily need advice (unless asked for) and we don't need someone to fix our problems for us. This leads me into men...

Men: Guys may not have as many "problems" as women seem to but they do have one thing to do when something comes up. Fix it. They do whatever they can to get the problem out of the way, usually alone if at all possible. They don't want to talk about it or even think about it too much, they just do whatever it takes to get said conflict out of the way.

Point is, Men and Women do things very different and I think if we could all just figure that out then there would be SOOO much less conflict in all types of relationships.

Advice: Men, girls don't always need something to be fixed so much as they need someone to just listen occasionally. Yes we do have girlfriends for that a lot of the time but it's nice to know that you're willing to listen too. And Women, guys always want to fix things. Let them sometimes and if they don't come to you with every little problem, be okay with it because they will sort things out on their own. They will usually come to you when they need you.
Those are my thoughts for the day! Until next time.. :)

Vent..

I know that it's been less that 5 hours since my last post but sometimes you really just have to get things off your chest. And as the author of Life of a Teenage Nobody, I need to get some things off my chest. First of all.. roommates are great! For the most part. You definitely make some great friendships and some amazing memories. There are always good times around our apartment. But like every good thing in life, there is an equal and opposite not so good part. Don't get me wrong I do love my roommates but sometimes things can get a little stressful. For one, I severely dislike those who do things just for the attention. Roommates or otherwise it is a very large pet peeve of mine. I'm sure many of you are similar. And going off that I dislike those who take in the attention-seekers poor life story and then turn it around on everyone else. For example, today I was just mentioning how my immediate roommate had been a little snappy towards me earlier and the roommate whom I was speaking too got all up in my face and told me how hard of a life she had and that I needed to give her a break. Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize that she was the only one with a hard life around here. Not to mention, the said problem that she had, I have actually had to deal with in real life as well. Now that just bugs me. Just because I do not tell everyone and their dog about my problems does not mean that I do not have them. I wish people would at least act like they're not the only person in this world. Again, I guess I'm just a teenage nobody and no matter what I say, nothing will change. Thankfully, I can just come here and vent to the few of you that actually read. Thanks blogging for giving me and out and thanks for those of you who care to keep reading. I promise not all my posts will be like this. Until next time!

New Blog

Blogging... interesting concept. It becomes sort of an online journal for some, a way to share talents and loves for others, and for people like me its a way to tell fun stories, share exciting news, vent, rant, rave, laugh, smile, and any other odd assortment of things. To me, this blog becomes an outlet for myself and hopefully, in turn, for you.
You may wonder why I named it "Life as a Teenage Nobody". You may think "You won't be a teenager for much longer and you're not a nobody". While literally that statement may be true I feel that many of us may go through our entire lives feeling like teenagers. You and I may feel that we have no real power in the world and no matter how old we get and how many responsibilities we take on, we still have to answer to someone more powerful. Whether that is parents, a manager, a boss, a teacher, whomever! As a real teenager it feels like there is no end to the madness and moving into adulthood, I realized that there really isn't. And while, yes, i do feel like a nobody sometimes, I continue to live, love, and enjoy so many things around me. Which is what I plan to share with you!
I hope you enjoy the quirks, randomness and all around weirdness that this blog will be! Look forward to funny stories, good books and music, adventures, tips, advice, and any other bit of cool and interesting information I decide to share! Until then... Ciao!
