Priceless

This world is EXPENSIVE!!! Holy cow. I'm feeling it hard core at this point in my life. I do not have a job and my previous savings are starting to run out. Not to mention there are going to be a lot of things I have to pay for really soon. A car, a new apartment for the summer and then another new one for the next semester, fees, books, a wedding, and all that kind of stuff that comes along with marriage! The list just goes on and on. It tends to stress me out. But, there are some things I realized over the past few days. Sure life is kind of expensive, especially for someone my age but I wouldn't trade it for anything. There are too many things in this world that are well worth living through the other costly things.

I'm talking about things that are priceless. Things that I wouldn't want to ever miss and I would never get rid of. I would go into debt 7 times over if I got to keep these things. Here's what I think is priceless:

Sunsets. The beauty of the horizon as the sun falls below the mountains is breath taking. No matter what season it is or if there are clouds or snow on the ground or birds in the air. Sunsets are fantastic. Sharing them with someone you care about is even better! They, amazingly, grow in splendor when you can watch the colors change with the person you love the most.

Babies. Babies are my favorite!! Especially newborns. The innocence of a new life amazes me every time. Their little laughs when they are happy, their eyes when the open for the first few times, their small fingers and toes, their first smile. It's all so fantastic! Even when they cry, its a beautiful thing because it shows life and emotion. So much personality can be put into such a small body and nothing can beat that. Again, sharing time with a child with someone you love just heightens that experience. Watching them interact with something so small and pure changes your perspective of them, always for the better.

Music. Ah, I love music. Not that bang your head and rock out music, real MUSIC. The echoing sound of a piano as it hits its last chord after a wonderful concerto, the deep, rich sound of a cello played just right, the blending voices of a well practiced choir. It's not something you can see but it's something you feel and you know its beautiful. Playing music, listening to music, writing music, loving music. That is priceless to me.

Finally, the last priceless thing on my mind tonight is someone you care about. All the things I talked about above are so much better when a significant other is involved. Along with everything else in the world. School is better, long car rides are better, beaches are better, weekends are better, laughing is better, living is better, loving is better. Any experience, old or new becomes something that no amount of money in this world could buy. Something that you want to keep and remember forever, no matter the cost.

I hope you guys have thought about things that are priceless to you while you were reading this. Life is so full of these small experiences, yet we take them for granted. Live your life, love your life. Until next time. Con amor. <3

I think poetry is priceless, too. There seems to be poetry is everything of value around us.
